So now here we are going to talk full about Madam Manisha Ashok Chaudhary who is a well-known BJP leader from Maharashtra state. She is not new face, she is actually very senior woman in politics. She is working from long time and even now she is sitting as the MLA of Dahisar in Mumbai and she is doing this post for the third time, that means three times she won the election from there.

Her Starting Life and Background
She was born on 18 June 1961 in Palghar Maharashtra. So she is basically Maharashtrian lady and from very early time she was connected with society and people problems. She did not jump into big politics directly, first she started from small local level. Then slowly she went higher and higher.
Political Career from Starting to Now

1. Mayor of Dahanu Nagar Palika (1998 to 2001)
At first she became the mayor of Dahanu Nagar Palika. That time she worked for city level development things, solving area problems, civic works and all. This post helped her to connect with common people more.
2. Corporator in BMC, Borivali (2012 to 2014)
After some years she became corporator from Ward No. 9 in Borivali under BMC. So now she entered inside Mumbai system. There also she worked for local issues, waste management, water, roads, etc.
3. MLA of Dahisar (From 2014 – still now)
Then in 2014 she entered full Maharashtra Assembly by winning Dahisar seat as MLA, through BJP ticket. That time she defeated Shiv Sena’s Vinod Ghosalkar with huge margin of around 38,578 votes.
Then again in 2019 she stood again and this time she won with even more bigger margin, around 63,917 votes, defeating Congress candidate Arun Sawant.
Then again in 2024, she faced her old opponent Ghosalkar who this time came with Shiv Sena (UBT) ticket. But still she defeated him by 44,329 votes.
So like this, three times continuously she won this Dahisar seat and never lost.
Her Main Works and Activities

1. Women’s Safety – “Gulabi Gang” Plan
She saw that women safety issue is becoming serious in Mumbai, so she suggested a special team like Gulabi Gang in North Mumbai. This group was going to include retired police people, lawyers and NGOs, who will work for protecting women and giving them training, and also creating helpline system.
2. New Bridge for Dahisar Area
She helped to start a big project of a new ₹124 crore flyover bridge which will connect Sudhir Phadke bridge to Western Express Highway. This is done mainly to reduce traffic jams in Dahisar and help vehicles move fast.
3. Fight Against Toll Naka Redevelopment
When some people tried to take Dahisar toll naka land for Dharavi redevelopment project, then she said strict NO. She said this land must be kept for local transport hub which will help reduce traffic pressure. She fought for this land protection.
4. Hospital Development
She pushed for expansion of Bhagwati Hospital where now 490-bed new wing is getting added. This will give better medical service to local people without going far.
5. Mangrove Park and Eco Tourism
She is also active in saving environment. She supported project to make Mangrove Eco Park which will protect sea-side areas and also attract tourists. It will help stop flooding and keep city safe.
